Controlling a Tesla with a NodeRun app

Hey NodeRunners,

So, here is the deal... I can't give you the credentials to my car. That might be a little dangerous! But if you have a Tesla of your own (or know someone that does), you can input your own credentials and control any Tesla car with this app.

Setting this up is a one time process:

  • Fork this space
  • Then visit: noderun.com/run/<your NodeRun profile name>/<your space name>/credentials?u=<your testlsa user>&p=<your tesla password>
  • If the login is successful, you will see your authtoken and vehicleID. Record them into the file my-tesla.json in your workspace.
  • Restart the server from the Server menu and Launch the app.

One more thing... if you see a 408 response when you run the app, your car needs to be woken up.

Enjoy!

Oh, and if you have questions or comments, feel free to comment on this space and I will do my best to reply!

This space demonstrates how to create a more responsive grid using a layout widget and a little bit of JavaScript and a responsive edit screen. It also incorporates consuming a web service to load list data, adding image upload and display to a screen, and using gauges from Fusion Charts
